About the Project 7 1/2 space in 2016

The space of Project 7 1/2 in 2016 is located between Seoul Theater and Sewoon Arcade on Jongno 3-ga in Seoul. It is situated within the premises of the Song Bock Eun Foundation which is supporting Project 7 1/2 this year.

The Song Bock Eun Foundation is a private non-profit organization that was founded in 2002 to provide scholarships to students with outstanding academic achievements or financial difficulties. The Foundation follows the wish of the late Mr Song Bock Eun who had always expressed his desire to give back to society the wealth that he had accumulated through hard work and frugal living throughout his 80 years. It consists of his lifetime residence and the stores surrounding it in Jongno 3-ga, central Seoul, which the late Mr Song donated to society when he passed away. Song Young Shik, previously a career diplomat and the late Mr Song’s eldest son, ensures that his father’s legacy carries on. He is currently a member of the board that realized the Foundation. Since its establishment 15 years ago, the Song Bok Eun Foundation has delivered over 900 Million won in scholarships to more than 500 students (371 high school students, 127 college students, 21 graduate school students, five organizations) with the rent collected from the stores.

Opening hours: Monday to Saturday between 11 am and 5 pm. (Closed on Sundays, but visitors may view the artworks through the window of the Project 7 1/2 space.)
